If you are interested in Source Engineerings’ trailing arms (and a ride enhancement kit) to replace your recalled Monaco trailing arms–you will definitely want to watch the following video! The recall essentially includes any R4R or RR4R Monaco Roadmaster chassis produced after the 2002 model year. This change was made as a running change and it is possible that some very late 2002 models could be effected.
Monaco Knight 2002 – 2004
Monaco Cayman 2002 – 2009
Holiday Rambler Ambassador 2002 – 2004
Holiday Rambler Neptune 2002 – 2009
Safari Cheetah 2002 – 2007
Safari Simba RD All Years
Safari Zanzibar 2002 -2005
2002, 2003 and some 2004 Monaco Knight, Cayman, HR Ambassador, Neptune, Safari Cheetah, Sahara and Zanzibar.
We’ve been looking for a MH and saw an “05″ Safari Cheetah 35′ that we like that comes under this possible effect. This costs over $2000 to fix for peace of mind. Knowing the potential for the trailing arms to break, especially while traveling down the highway at 60 or better is a complete turn off from these MH’s that have the potential for this problem. Google this problem and find it on iRV2 forum.
@ August 7th, 2011 at 18:08We have a 2007 Monaco Cayman. The trailing arms broke today and our coach is at a highway rest stop near Sacramento, California. We were told that the trailing arms needed to be welded, just to get the coach to a repair shop. We are really at a loss as to what to do…please advise.
