Having heard many positive comments from other coach owners, I decided to make the trip to Grants Pass with my 2002 Country Coach Affinity to determine if some of the steering freeplay could be eliminated. I had already installed Road King shocks and were very pleased with the ride quality but the free play in the steering wheel required constant correction on all but perfectly flat smooth roads. Henderson's road performance assessment and inspections confirmed what I had been experiencing, and they found significant wear in the drag link ends, as well as in the steering gear itself. The drag link ends were replaced, and a Safe-T-Plus steering centering unit were installed, then a front end alignment was completed. I did not have the time to allow them to remove, rebuild and re-install the steering gear, so that will wait until a future trip. The work that was done has made a significant improvement in the way my coach handles, and I'm confident that getting rid of the play in the steering gear will make another big improvement. Henderson's treated us as if we were a part of the family, and were very knowledgeable regarding motorcoach handling issues. Since I am a hands on type, I appreciated having the ability to interact with the service techs while they worked on my coach. I highly recommend that anyone who would like to improve the way an RV drives and handles pays them a visit!
