Does a new RV mean a better handling RV?

Does a new RV mean a better handling RV?

RV TRAVEL IS AT AN ALL-TIME HIGH This year sure has seen a huge surge in people interested in the RVing lifestyle. We have felt this at our company due to the record number of steering and suspension part sales. It seems due to the air travel restrictions people may have just decided to hit the road and explore this great country of ours instead of traveling internationally. A big question on the minds of many is:   "Do I buy a New RV or Fix up an older one?" While buying new definitely has its benefits, it doesn't always mean the coach will handle better going down the road. Take the owner of a brand New Ford 2021 E450 in the video above for example. He came into our shop after spending over $100,000 on a new RV. He was not at all satisfied with the driving experience. He ended putting on several upgrades to get the driving experience he desired.   One important note to all new 2021 Ford E450 owners ... read more

Making A Functional Office for your RV

Making A Functional Office for your RV

If you find yourself needing to work at the same time you are also taking your family on the road, you’ll know that the premium of space afforded by an RV will become even dearer when you try to add an office to it.  Fortunately, some products can help you conserve space and organize your work effectively. Look at some of these products if you’re considering an upgrade to working at the dinner table. Laptop - Apple or PC, if you’re going for long periods, a desktop computer makes little sense in an RV, as the CPU housing takes up space, it tends to draw more power and requires a monitor to view. Laptops make great sense. There are many great models to choose from, depending on if you want a touchscreen or a model that converts to a tablet. And some models even come with shock absorption for accidents and slips on your travels. For PC fans, we can recommend a Toughbook! USB mouse and mouse pad - If space is a premium, get rid of cords when and where you can. If ... read more

What Is Boondocking And Why Is It So Popular?

What Is Boondocking And Why Is It So Popular?

If you’re a longtime RV enthusiast, you’ve probably already heard about the practice of boondocking. For some of the newer enthusiasts, we thought we’d share a little bit of a primer on what it is and how to manage it well. Boondocking is using your skills with an RV to live off the grid for up to months. The two main determining factors are where you take your RV and how you camp there. It means going to a remote location without water or electric hookups for rental. You are entirely dependent on your reserves-- and your resourcefulness-- to get by comfortably. While this kind of nomadic living may require permits in some parts, one place that doesn’t require a permit is Arizona. In Arizona, you may live free in the desert for 14 days. Then you must move-- a minimum of 500 feet. Then, the 14 day timer can start again. With a nearby water source and solar panels (and a very thrifty use of eclectic power), a boondocker can live for months in the Arizona desert ... read more
